Artists and creative professionals born and/or based in Bavaria and/or the Czech Republic are invited to apply for a two-month residency as part of the Czech-Bavarian Artist in Residence Program BYCZ AiR 2024 at the Schiesslhaus AiR in Kollnburg. In cooperation with Plzeň 2015, four residencies with a total artist’s fee of EUR 2,500 p.p. including travel and material costs are being offered.

Application requirements

The residency program is open to visual artists of all disciplines, as well as other creative fields such as film, theater, literature, architecture, sound, design, and music. We especially encourage applications that seek to pursue interdisciplinary approaches.

Applications are open to individual artists and/or artists’ collectives. There is no age restriction. It is compulsory to stay at the residence during the residency period. The dates of arrival and departure should be +/- one day before/after the start and end of the residency period. The working language is English.
 
BYCZ AiR: The application requirement for the Czech-Bavarian AiR program 2024 is a connection to Bavaria and/or the Czech Republic (place of birth and/or residence).

Facilities

The residency program takes place in the award-winning monument "Schießl-Haus" in Kollnburg. During the residencies at the SCHIESSLHAUS AiR, guest artists are provided with living, working and exhibition spaces. The resident artists form a residential community in which each person has a private sleeping/working room. Visits by partners/guests are only possible for a limited period of time and in consultation with the Artistic Directors and the other participating resident artists. The resident artists are supervised by the Artistic Directors of the SCHIESSLHAUS AiR.
