ADÉLA MITOVÁ

Adéla Mitová, born 2001 in Ústí nad Labem (Czech Republic), is a visual artist and graphic designer. Currently, she studies Fine Arts and New Media at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen.

“I am fervently passionate about exploring the boundaries of tranquility and self-discovery through unconventional means in my works. At present, I am delving into the history of my family, particularly exploring our mixed German heritage. This journey into our ancestry has sparked my curiosity about the cultural, social, and mainly historical context that shaped our family's identity over generations. By tracing back our roots, I aim to gain a deeper understanding of the diverse backgrounds and difficulties regarding the relations between the families in current Sudetenland.“

„In 2020, I developed a passion for moths. By realizing them with this traditional handcraft I want to call the attention of the viewer and invite to a closer look. Those unseen insects have their own beauty and are worth protecting. In addition I like the idea of making their surface out of the material they like to imitate. Wood.“
