The Schießl-Haus is a historic craftsman’s house (“Waldlerhaus”) in Kollnburg, Bavarian Forest. After professional restoration, the weaver’s house, built in 1766, is one of the sights of the castle village. The Schießl-Haus/SCHIESSLHAUS AiR has received numerous awards for the restoration and revitalization of the historic building and its use as an international artists' residence with a public cultural program: in 2019 with the Monument Award of the District of Lower Bavaria, in 2020 with the Bavarian Monument Protection Medal and in 2023 with the State Award for Village Renewal and Building Culture of the Bavarian State Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forestry. Since 2022, the SCHIESSLHAUS AiR has been hosting publicly funded Artist in Residence programs for professional artists under the direction of Anna-Helena Klumpen and Katrin Savvulidi, with formats for cultural education and mediation, especially for children and young people, networking meetings with the regional art and cultural scene, and public events. Every year, up to ten international artists are guests in Kollnburg for residencies lasting several months.
On Open Monument Day, an exhibition of works by former resident artists from the SCHIESSLHAUS AiR collection will be shown.
